The story of Julie Conde and her family (“The Best of Both Worlds”, ALR, March/ April 2000) was a refreshing look at the practical side of teaching languages and living abroad. I most enjoyed Julie’s candor and honesty about living life as a missionary family, raising her young children to be bilingual and to appreciate the community they lived in. Opinions about the right and wrong way to teach our children to be bilingual are many but it seems one family has interpreted a formula for success.
