Easy-to-use TESOL Quarterly and Journal CD-ROMS are a valuable resourceIt was 5A.M and I needed to read "The Postmethod Condition: Emerging Strategies for Second/Foreign Language Teaching" for an 8.30 am class. I knew it was in the TESOL Quarterly Vol. 28, No. 1, Spring 1994, but the library was closed. Luckily, I had TESOL Quarterly-Digital on CD -- I had not yet used it, but it was straightforward to install and hypertext links quickly brought me to the article I needed. The easily-found article was difficult to read, but I soon noticed an icon that looked like a magnifying glass and, with a couple of clicks, had easy-to-read large font. That was fine, but I wanted to read from paper. So I clicked "print" and soon the pages I needed were there. After some highlighting, I was prepared for class and did not have to stress. TESOL Quarterly and TESOL Journal are available on CD-ROM (Cybertech). I can verify that the few articles, among thousands, that I examined were fully searchable with the Adobe Acrobat search engine. |
