While it may be surprising, humans’ ability to detect color doesn’t begin until between three and five months. The older we get, the better we are able to not only determine the difference between colors, but in naming them as well. These two things aren’t as unrelated as one might think. Once we have a name for a color, we are able to determine it from different colors. This means that depending on what language one speaks, the way that they see color may be different.
